This year’s Friends of Trees planting in the Arbor Lodge, Kenton, Portsmouth, and Overlook neighborhoods has grown well beyond 200 trees and they’ve asked for our help to pull it off.  If you’re able to join us for this really fun, family friendly event, be sure to show up around 8:45 and let them know you’re with the “Timbers Army” so you can be sure to be assigned to one of our crews and have time to partake in the breakfast accouterments.

Planting Trees is Muddy Business: To avoid getting caught with soaking wet feet or seeing that beautiful jacket you got for over the holidays caked in mud, they ask that you come dressed for the weather and the work. While Friends of Trees will provide work gloves (including youth sizes) and guidance, they ask that you wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots (rubber rain boots or work boots are awesome for planting), and rain-proof layers that you don’t mind getting a little muddy. Friends of Trees will also be providing tools, planting guidance, and free breakfast treats and coffee/hot chocolate to get you fueled up.  There is also a warm potluck lunch at the end of the planting for all volunteers provided by the hosting neighborhood groups -- we hope you can stay for it!

This planting will have a bike-only crew.  If you're interested in planting by bike, please fill out the Bike Registration Form and they'll follow-up with more details.

Additionally, they are looking for more trucks so, if you are so inclined, give a shout out to Stephan.Lewis@107ist.org and we'll get you added to the list to receive those details.

Let's do this, Portland!
