If you love volunteering in the outdoors and you're on the east side of Metro, this one is for you. We're excited to have new opportunities to volunteer with the Johnson Creek Watershed Council. Come help improve the health of Johnson Creek as we mulch hundreds of trees and shrubs!! Mulch helps suppress weed growth and is a great way to recycle organic matter! Mulch also helps improve soil moisture, which will help ensure the highest level of plant survival through the dry summer months.

Project site is located along the Springwater Trail just North of Dowsett Lane. No parking is available on Dowsett Lane, but is available on SE Roberts Avenue. To get to SE Roberts Avenue take W Powell Boulevard west until Se Roberts Avenue. Take a right onto SE Roberts Avenue and travel on SE Roberts Avenue for approximately 0.5 miles until the 800 block of SE Roberts (Dowsett Lane is right before the stop sign on Roberts). Parking is available on both sides of SE Roberts Avenue. From here walk down Dowsett Lane (approximately 500 feet) until you reach the Springwater Trail. Take a right and the project site is in about 200 feet. Closest address is 909 SE Roberts Ave, Gresham, OR.

Please wear rubber boots and/or shoes you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. Instruction, tools, gloves, water and coffee/tea provided. The event is family friendly; if you are under 18 and planning to attend without a parent or guardian, your parent will need to sign a waiver which you will bring with you to the event. Contact courtney@jcwc.org to get this waiver.
